The developmental goals of south pars (gas) reservoirs .
– Accountability to the daily increasing demand of gas consumption in the country.
– Replacement of natural gas for oil and oil products and increment of gas ratio in domestic energy consumption basket to save energy.
– Export of gas, gas condensate & liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
– To feed petrochemical industries with gas condensate as a cheap and sustainable source.
– Delivery of ethane existing in the region gas which estimated to be 5.5 percent to petrochemistry to yield ethylene and its derivatives.

HSE
the new health , safety and environment management system in applied in SPGC co.
in accordance with the world’s newest criteria.
In this system the unsafe factors of the working environment
are reported in a specific from (anomaly) and the necessary measurements
and taken to remove potential danger.
Accidents analysis are weekly and monthly performed.
In this system all the accidents including those lea to human detects,
damage to properties machineries and environment are registered in a
computer software which in submitted to the management in the form of
a diagram at the and of each month.
On the basin of these censors the obtained in dices are even lower than the
international standard (OGP).
Registration and control of the want material an well an measuring the
environment polluting gases are stints of the system.
The goals of the system:
Boost of the capability
Elevate the productivity level.
ctivity level.
Facilitate the maintenance programming.

Sections of the system
1. Methods unit (CAMS) – the duty of system control and updating mechanized system as well as the removal of the obstacles to facilitate in maintenance programming .
2. Engineering unit – accountable for the definition of maintenance standards as well an equipment documents’ control and equipment suppliers to attain information (data).
3. programming unit – accountable for preparation and control of the maintenance programs, to arrange coordination between various units of maintenance.

Gas treatment plants of phase one
Operations of this phase was awarded to an Iranian company namely petropars and its commissioning commenced in Tir 1382,
and was formally in aban 1383.
For the purpose of exploitation and of south pars gas field two wellhead
platforms are erected in each phase with throughput capacity of 16 wells out of
which only 6 wells are operative for each wellhead platform.
In phase one daily 28/3 mm3 gas is extracted from two wellhead platforms and
separating operation of the associated gas-water is conducted on gas along with
condensate are transferred to shore through a 105 km submarine pipeline in tow
phases for this purpose a residential platform with capacity of 90 people is
erected in the vicinity of the exploitation platform in phase 1. this platform
is also used to support other platforms.
No operation in conducted on the other platforms in other phases and these
unmanned platforms are monitored by one shore central control room.
The inflow gas to gas treatment plants is separated from condensate and is
treated in two operational units as the following:
- sweetening the gas.
- Dehydration
- Adjustment of the gas dew-point
- demercaptanization

Gas treatment plants of phase 2 and 3
The development operation of phases 2&3 in south pars gas field was awarded
to a France – TOTAL Co. in Tir 1383. it was Totally completed for for
explorations by 6/7/76 .
56/5 mm3 gas in daily discharged from tow wellhead platform which through three
phases comprising gas, gas condensate and water are transferred to onshore
through tow 105 km submarine 32” pipe line.
In order to maintain the pipes & prevent corrosion a chemical substance “glaycol”
is transferred to platform for injection to gas pipeline through tow 4/5 pipelines.

The inflow gas to refinery.
After being separated from gas condensate are transferred to four operational units the capacity of each is 13/7 mm3 which is refined as the following:
- sweetening the gas
- dehydration
- adjustment gas due point
- demercaptanization
53/3 mm3 refined enters the trunk line network through a 56 pipeline and 80000
barrels of gas condensate after transmitting through tow gas condensate
stabilization units are transferred to the gas storage reservoirs for export purpose.
At the same time the separated H2S in sweetening unit in directed to sulphure
treating unit and 400 tons of granular sulphure are daily produced which are
transport to sulphure mechanized warehouse by trucks.

Characteristics of supportive units
Four set of gas turbine for electricity generation with capacity of 19/S MW
and tow diesel fuel generator with capacity of 30/98 MW, each, one set diesel
fuel generator (for emergency occasions) with capacity of 2 MW.
- four steam boilers each with capacity of 170 tons per hour.
- 3 tanks for fire fighting water supply system with capacity of 12500 m3
- Three storage tanks for gas condensate with capacity of 77300 m3.
- Three water treating units, each with capacity of 1300 tons per day.

Gas treatment plants of phases 4and5
The south pars expansion operation of phases 4 and 5 was awarded to a consortium
comprising ENI, petropars & NICO in Mordad /1379 and was totally completed
exploitations bay Bahman 1383.
In each phases , tow operational wellhead platforms are installed that the
thrush put capacity of each platform in 12 wells.
- 56/s mm3 gas is discharged from the reservoir and in 3 phases comprising
gas, gas condensate and water are transferred onshore through
two 32” Pipeline at the lenghth 100 km.
- In order to protect the pipes (to prevent corrosion & hydration) a
chemical substance “Glycol” is transferred to the platform through tow 4/5”
pipeline to be injected to the gas pipeline.
The inflow gas to refinery after separation from gas condensate are transferred to
four operational units of 13/9 mm3 capacity. It will be treatment as the folowing.
- Gas sweetening .
- Dehydration.
- Ethane treatment.
- Separation refinement & storage propane & butane.
- Adjustment of gas dew point.
- Demercaptanization.
50 mc3 refined gas through a 56” pipeline enters the trunk line grid and 77000
barrels of gas condensate after transmitting through to stabilization units are
directed to storage reservoir for export purpose.
At the same time the separated H2S sweetening unit is directed to sulphure
treating unit as a result to it 400 tons of granular sulphure are daily produced
which are transport to sulphure mechanized – warehouse by trucks.
In this refinery 2600 tons of produced Ethane is transferred to jam Petrochemistry
through a pipeline and 2000 tons of propane and 1200 tons of butane are daily
produced which after being stored in concrete reservoirs are transferred to a
measuring station and ultimately loaded in petrochemistry’s jetty for export
destinations.
